if you were like me, the television was set to last night’s oscars — what felt like twelve hours of them — and despite the lengthy processional, a friend asked me this morning about my favorite dress. would you believe that i barely took notice? instead, i paid attention to celebrity hair and beauty and sandra bullock’s harry winston hair brooches should have gotten a standing ovation (upon further inspection, i noticed that they were actually two wing-like clips crossed over each other). when a twitter follower suggested a “champagne vs. beer” post on them, it felt only right to oblige.
